Paige Spiranac, the well-known golf influencer, has volunteered to replace Joey Chestnut in the famed Nathan’s 4th of July Hot Dog Eating Contest. This comes after The Post reported that Chestnut will not be able to participate due to a trademark conflict with a competitor.
Spiranac wasted no time in announcing his willingness to take Chestnut’s place. “I am available to fill in for him. My record is 6.5 hot dogs in 10 minutes,” tweeted Spiranac in response to the news that Chestnut, a 16-time major champion, will not be able to participate this year. Paige demonstrates how she eats those hot dogs.

Spiranac shared a video as proof of his feat. “I found the video proof. And I lied, it was only 6 hot dogs and not 6.5. I may have to try again this July 4. Thoughts?” wrote Spiranac on his X account, showing his enthusiasm for the challenge.
As Spiranac prepares to possibly make history in the contest, Joey Chestnut, known for devouring a record 76 hot dogs in 2021 and 62 in last year’s contest, expressed disappointment and sadness. Chestnut explained in a statement that he will not be able to compete due to his recent deal with Impossible Foods, a brand that has launched a vegan hot dog.

“I was crushed to learn from the media that after 19 years I am excluded from the Nathan’s 4th of July hot dog eating contest. I love competing in that event, I love celebrating America with my fans all over this great country on the 4th and I’ve been training to defend my title,” Chestnut wrote on X.
With his infectious enthusiasm Spiranac could bring a new dynamic to the competition this 4th of July. If he decides to participate, it will surely be an event to remember, even if he doesn’t win the competition.
