Sharon Osbourne has opened up about her once close friendship with fellow X Factor judge Simon Cowell. The Celebrity Big Brother star has revealed he hadn’t contacted either herself or Louis Walsh before they went on the show.

It comes as the star also explained her short stay on the ITV show, saying she “can’t cope” with being away for the whole series. The 71-year-old is only on the show for five days instead of the full 19 days.

In a new insight, the star has revealed she isn’t as close as she once was with Simon. Sharon shared: “He would not call Louis or I. He is very, what’s the word? Snotty.

“Simon just is… We were, in the beginning, the three of us, really close friends. But then he kind of left our group and went on. But no, he’s weird as far as friends go. Very, very closed off.”

She also told The Sun ahead of going into the house: “There will be lots of stories, he’s going to need more Botox after we finish with him.

“There are just so many things, conversations, something else will come to the front of your mind and you think, ‘Oh God, I forgot about that’, or, ‘What about the time that . . . ”

In a new insight, the star revealed that she finds it too hard to be apart from her husband Ozzy Osbourne, who is living with Parkinson’s Disease. She said: “I don’t want to stay away from Ozzy for too long.

“We’re so close as a family. I don’t think I have ever gone a week without talking to any of them, ever. Through fights, feuds, everything. We still talk and this will definitely be the longest.”

Sharon also talked about Ozzy’s condition since he was diagnosed three years ago, explaining: “There’s so many different types of Parkinson’s. It’s not a death sentence by any stretch of the imagination, but it does affect certain nerves in your body.

“And it’s like you have a good day, and then a really bad day,” she added. Earlier this week, a source told the Mirror that Sharon had struck a “special deal” with the show’s bosses to star in part of it.

The source revealed: “Sharon didn’t fancy the full slog on the show and she knew how much the bosses wanted her, so she made a special deal. She isn’t staying for the full show but is still taking home one of the biggest pay cheques.”

ITV sources said she was at the top of their list to ensure the new series “has The X Factor ” and gets off to an exciting start.

The famously outspoken Sharon’s entrance was even more memorable as she met her old friend and former X Factor co-star Louis Walsh, who is also a permanent housemate in this year’s Celebrity Big Brother.

They have joined TV presenter Fern Britton, Love Island’s Ekin-Su Culculoglu, Coronation Street actor Colson Smith, Kate Middleton’s uncle Gary Goldsmith, Strictly dancer Nikita Kuzmin, Ibiza Weekender star David Potts, Real Housewives Of Cheshire’s Lauren Simon, presenter Zeze Millz, businessman Levi Roots, Heartstopper actor Bradley Riches and US star Marisha Wallace.

Upon entering the house, Sharon was immediately given a task. She had to choose three housemates who could potentially be eliminated, with Louis there to assist.

After watching each housemate enter from a secret room, they decided to put Zeze, Gary, and David at risk of eviction. They then met the rest of their housemates.

Now in her 70s, Sharon says appearing on CBB isn’t about reviving her career as she has “already done it all”. She said: “I’ve done theatre, I’ve done TV. I’ve done everything I wanted to do. That’s why, with something like CBB, it’s to be enjoyed. It’s a great experience and that’s literally it. I’m just here for the laugh and that’s liberating, very liberating.”
