Max Verstappen won the Canadian Grand Prix but it was a nightmare on the other side of the Red Bull garage with Sergio Perez failing to finish. The Mexican driver spun into the wall and suffered critical damage to his rear wing before limping back to the pits to retire.
Lando Norris came home in second place ahead of George Russell, who pipped Lewis Hamilton to the final podium spot after pulling off a late move on his Mercedes team-mate. Hamilton was furious with himself despite making up three positions during the race and gave a frank interview after the chequered flag.
“One of the worst races I have ever driven,” he said. “Just lots of mistakes. But obviously, if I had qualified better, I would have been in a better position.”
