Paige Spiranac's Bold Prediction: Women Golfers Would "Embarrass" Men in 'The Match'

Former US golfer Paige Spiranac sparked controversy last August on the Up and Adams Show, claiming female golfers would “embarrass” their male counterparts if they competed against each other in ‘The Match.’ Since retiring from golf, Spiranac has become a social media sensation with 4 million Instagram followers.

Spiranac advocated for more female representation in the exhibition golf series, suggesting a combination of LPGA pros and NFL/NBA players. “I’m sick of seeing NFL players do The Match and game players. I want to see some women competing! Give me Nelly Korda, Justin Korda, Steph Curry, and Aaron Rodgers,” she said.

Confident in the abilities of female golfers, Spiranac stated, “People would be blown away… They would absolutely embarrass the boys.”Her wish came true in the 2024 edition, featuring Lexi Thompson and Rose Zhang against Max Homa and Rory McIlroy.

In the 2024 Creator Classic, Spiranac returned to professional golf after eight years, finishing 2 over par. Although she didn’t qualify for the final hole, she cherished the experience. “It’s special for us and special for them… a crazy, amazing experience,” she said.

Spiranac’s bold claim and participation in the Creator Classic highlight her passion for promoting female talent in golf.
