When you take into account the rise of singing competitions over the last two decades, Simon Cowell has his fingerprints on just about all of them. He was first introduced to a worldwide audience as part of American Idol.
Simon was also a judge on both the British and American versions of The X Factor. If that were not enough, he has also done Britain’s Got Talent and America’s Got Talent. The American version of AGT just recently wrapped another season, and it does not show any signs of slowing down.
Cowell Reveals His Shocking Singing Voice
With all of the years that Simon Cowell has spent judging other people’s voices on various programs, many fans may wonder what Simon sounds like when he sings, or, if he can sing at all. He certainly knows what he is talking about when he gives singers direction, but, can he actually sing?
It turns out, it was Simon Cowell’s birthday recently. To celebrate the monumental occasion, the reality television judge surprised his millions of followers by singing himself a birthday song. Along with a short clip of Simon singing to himself, he also included the caption: “Happy Birthday to me! Thank you for all of your kind messages. Love, Simon.”
After finishing his song and showing off his vocal chops, he went on to say: “And that’s why I decided never to be a singer.”
Addressing his many followers, he said: “I’m now at an age where, when you say how old you are, people clap, and that’s depressing. However, I’m alive, I’m healthy, I’m happy, and thank you, everyone, for your kind messages. Take care. Till next year. Buh-bye.”
